The hotel, once called the King's Head, started off as a small coaching inn and over the years became popular for weddings and conferences.

Situated on High Street, The Kings once had a thriving public bar, called the Raglan Bar, but this was lost in a refurbishment some years ago. It has also been a popular music venue and hosted concerts by singers such as Van Morrison in its ballroom in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

This piece of Newport's entertainment and hospitality history is now being lovingly restored and converted into 30 luxury one and two bedroom apartments.

The development of this historic building is being undertaken by the same team that converted Shire Hall, Newport and The Lansdowne and Russell Court in Cardiff.

With years of experience in Cardiff and beyond, you may have already seen one of our prestigious buildings without even realising it.

Below is a selection of projects of which we are particularly proud. Of course, every project is important to us, but we want to provide you with a sample of the boundless possibilities we can deliver.
34 Stunning One & Two Bedroom Apartments in Newport City Centre
Kings Court Newport is a stunning development of one and two bedroom apartments in an iconic landmark of the City that overlooks the Monument Castle, located in the middle of the shopping district and Cafe Quarter. A home at 'The Kings' has a range of local amenities with only a few steps from the front door

Kings Court is just 400 Metres from the new Friars Walk Development which is a major new shopping and leisure scheme that will transform the John Frost Square area. This revitalisation of the city centre offers more than 36,230 square metres of retail and leisure space including a department store, multiplex cinema, shops, restaurants and car park.

Debenhams will be the key anchor store of Friars Walk while Next, Top Shop, New Look and H&M are also to take units and return to the city centre. Popular restaurants Nando's, Chiquitos, Prezzo, Frankie and Benny's, Cosmo and Gourmet Burger Kitchen have signed up and the city centre will once again have a cinema with the opening of Cineworld.

The city boasts international venues such as the renowned Celtic Manor Resort, home to the 2010 Ryder Cup, annual Wales Open Golf Championship and, most recently, Barrack Obama. For sporting enthusiasts, The Newport Gwent Dragons play on the nearby Rodney Parade also the home of Newport County. The Welsh National Velodrome is located at Newport's International Sports Village and is one of only four internationally recognised indoor veledromes in Britain.

Just 4 miles from this development is the neighbouring countryside which boasts the important historical landmark, the Roman Amphitheatre in Caerleon. Due to its exceptional heritage, the popular TV show Time Team in 2011 carried out a 'Lost City' dig which aired in 2012. This area provides an array of interesting leisure options, including the Roman Leigonary Museum Caerleon, giving a taste of Newport's historical past.
